Third Coast Bank Online and Mobile Privacy Disclosure

Facts

Third Coast Bank mobile application (the “App”) and Third Coast Bank online banking services (collectively, the “Services”) allows you to do various things, including:

  • Get real-time balances for your account(s)
  • View your transactions and statements
  • Deposit a check
  • Receive alerts

This privacy disclosure, in combination with other relevant privacy notices that we provide to you, e.g., pursuant to financial privacy laws, inform you of the policies and practices regarding the collection, use and disclosure of any personal information that we collect from or about users in connection with the Services.

 

Why are we providing this notice?

The Services may request access to information stored on your device such as location, camera, contacts, or other features you are enrolled in to enrich and simplify your own user experience and improve our services, as well as provide additional security to protect your account.
It is important for you to understand that:

  • Before granting access to this information, you will be prompted to give the application that permission.
  • If you do not wish to grant that permission, you may decline. However, please be advised, declining permissions may impact services or functionality and/or access to the Service.
  • If you later change your mind, those permissions can be updated in your device's settings.
 

What Information do we collect?

Some examples of information the Services will request access to:

  • Location. Your location is used to prevent fraudulent activity and to display branch and ATM locations near you.
  • Contacts. Allowing access lets you add contacts to use with features that allow you to send money via your Services. We will only add the contacts you choose, and that information will not be shared.
  • Camera. The App uses your camera for certain functionality including facial recognition, capture check images and scan ID.

Through your use of the Services, we may collect personal information in the following ways:

  • Personal information you provide to us. We may collect personal information such as your first and last name, address, e-mail, telephone number, and social security number when you create an account. In addition, personal information may also include account numbers, payment card information, transaction and payment history, credit history, and email address. Please be aware that personal information, such as account

numbers and social security numbers, should not be provided to us through

 

channels that are not secure, including the Contact Us form on the Third Coast Bank website.

  • Personal information collected from third parties. We may collect certain information from identify verification services and consumer reporting agencies, including credit bureaus, in order to provide some of our services.
  • Personal information collected via technology. We may automatically log information about you, your computer, tablet or mobile device and your interactions with us, our communications, and other online services such as:
    • Device data, including but not limited to, your computer or mobile device’s operating system type and version, manufacturer and model, browser type, device type (e.g., phone, tablet), IP address, mobile device carrier, radio/network information (e.g., wi-fi, LTE, 5G) and general location information, such as city, state or geographic area. Other device data may include online activity data, such as pages you viewed, how long you spent on a page and access times. Cookies are text files that a website stores on a visitor’s device to uniquely identify the visitor’s browser or store information for helping you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, enabling functionality, and helping us understand user activity and patterns. In addition, if you have enabled location services on your phone and agree to the collection of your location when prompted by the Services, we will collect location data when you use the Services even when the application or website is closed or not in use; for example, to provide fraud detection services. If you do not want to share this information, you may decline the collection of your location when prompted or adjust the location services

settings on your device.

 

How do we use the information?

In general, we use the information collected through your use of the Services to respond to your requests submitted through the Services, to provide the services you request, and to help serve you better. We use such information in the following ways:

  • Facilitate the creation of, and secure and maintain your account
  • Identify you as a user in our system
  • Provide improved administration of the services
  • Provide the services you request
  • Send you administrative notifications such as security or support and

maintenance advisories

  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations
  • Prevent, identify, and investigate fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical, or illegal activity

The App may create de-identified information records from personal information by excluding certain information that makes the information personally identifiable to you. We may use this information in a form that does not personally identify you to analyze request patterns to enhance our products and services. We reserve the right to use and disclose non-identifiable information to third parties for business purposes at our discretion.
In accordance with our privacy notice, which is provided in accordance with applicable financial privacy laws, a link to which is included below for your reference, Third Coast Bank may share your information with third party or affiliated service providers that perform services for or on behalf of us in providing the App, including to provide you with services you’ve elected, to conduct quality assurance testing, to facilitate account maintenance and to provide technical support. Third Coast Bank does not share such information with affiliates or third parties to market to you.
To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we have implemented reasonable, administrative, technical and physical security measures in compliance with applicable federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secure files and buildings.

The information is retained in accordance with state and federal record retention laws. Please contact us to determine specific timeframes for your personal stored information and if that information may be deleted.

The Services may contain links to third party websites. When you click on a link to any other website or location, you will leave the App and go to another site and another entity may collect personal and/or anonymous information from you. The Service’s provision of a link to any other website or location is for your convenience and does not signify our endorsement of such other website or location or its contents. We have no control over, do not review, and cannot be responsible for, these outside websites or their content. Please be aware that the terms of this Privacy Disclosure do not apply to these outside websites. We encourage you to
read the privacy policy of every website and application you visit.
